Novel Year reviews Dark Poppy’s Demise

I found another lovely blogger review for Dark Poppy’s Demise this weekend.

I am a sucker for South African YA. Especially South African YA that does not focus on the trials of Apartheid. Dark Poppy’s Demise did not disappoint.

This book has a dark message that is incredibly relevant in today’s internet-mad society. Just who are the people we meet online? And how much can we trust them?

I really do not want to give too much away. Dark Poppy should be required reading in high schools across the country. I firmly believe that. What happens to Jen could happen to anyone. There were points during my reading of this novel that I was genuinely freaked out. It was all so scarily real!

This was also a welcome breather from all the paranormal novels I have been immersed in lately. I can only hope that this book finds a place on many bookshelves and perhaps break into the international market.

Thanks Monique!
