Putting faces to names 2

Last year I posted a blog featuring some pictures of what the characters from my books look like.

Remember these guys? From left we have Trent, the Machiavellian teen from The Goblet Club, Kendall, Fuse’s resident emo kid, and last but not least Kirsty from my short story The Expedition.

This time I chose some characters from my latest novel, Dark Poppy’s Demise. So without further ado, heeeeeeeeere’s Jenna, her best friend Anisa and the deliciously dangerous Robert! Are they anything like you imagined?

I definitely had different images in my head. Interesting to see how you envisioned them.

When you write, do you have a photographic concept of the character?

I don't really, just layers of ideas and things I know about them. It's always like I'm looking at their reflection out of the corner of my eyes, in a bathroom with a broken light that fizzes on and off.

Sometimes if a picture is striking enough I'll use that as a base but most of the time I have a clear image in my head.

Everyone except for Robert is close to who's in my head when I read your writing. I'd run a mile from this Robert, but maybe that's the point!
