Two hearts in a goldfish bowl
A few notes on fish.
Other than the fact that they’re extremely tasty with a little wasabi and pickled ginger.
I have a Siamese Fighter named Lil’ Kim. No, not after the famous rap artist. Another famous Kim. (I’ll just leave that there.)
He’s also known as My Little Blue Smudge of Happiness. He lives on my kitchen counter in a science beaker I bought at Babylonstoren. It’s like having a tiny Pokemon.
You might be thinking, what’s so great about having a fish as a pet? Well … he puffs out his fins like the dilophosaurus in Jurassic Park whenever I enter the kitchen. It’s the most adorable display of aggression ever.
Plus he makes me creepy bubble art, which is pretty awesome.
It kind of looks like Finn from Adventure Time doesn’t it? A demonically possessed, screaming Finn …
Maybe he’s trying to tell me something …
Anyway, I love fish.
So naturally I absolutely adore the cover of my new novel out now in Germany, Zwei Herzen im Goldfischglas. (It translates as Two Hearts in a Goldfish Bowl).
It’s about a kid who uses his amazing observational skills and logic to help the girl of his dreams become popular.
It’s a quirky love story that tackles some tough topics, like Autism and rape culture (especially pertinent now with the Stanford rape case dominating the headlines.
I’m excited to see what the German booktubers and bookstagrammers think of it. The book has been out for just over a week and I’ve already seen my first good review!
What do you think of the cover?
